The Elks National Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest open to youth ages 8 to 13. This event is free to all contestants who are eligible. We will award winners at the Local, District, State, Regional, and National levels with the Elks funding our winners through the entire process. This event helps build character and teaches our contestants about the virtues of respect and good sportsmanship.
The Salem Elks Hoop Shoot will be held Saturday, December 3rd in the gymnasium at the Oregon School for the Deaf. The shoot will start at 10 AM. Any eligible student that shows up at the shoot will be able to participate in their age group. We will need several volunteers for this event to help with registration, scoring, and general assistance while we hold the shoot. And if you are unable to help with the shoot but would still like to come help cheer on our contestants, you are welcome to do that as well!
If you are interested in more information about the 2016 Salem Elks Hoop Shoot or to volunteer please contact one of our event co-chairs, either Blake Whitson or Eric Strawn. Blake can be reached at 217-720-7645 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
